The Cub Scout Uniform Scouts need to feel that
they are part of a unit and a major step to that end is the uniform. A uniform
signifies inclusion, belonging, instant recognition and wearing a uniform
correctly promotes pride and builds self esteem. Following are some guidelines
we ask our den leadership and parents to present, implement and uphold at the
den level, which in turn will be evident at pack level. CLASS
"A" UNIFORM Wolf Cubs, Bear Cubs and
Webelos: Shirt with proper insignia (blue for cubs and blue or tan for Webelos),
Hat, Neckerchief and slide, Belt, Pants/Shorts (blue for cubs and blue or olive
for Webelos), Socks (blue or olive) and Shoes (sandals do not always meet
comfort and safety needs). Pants/Shorts - St. Charles
uniform pants, cargo pants, dress slacks or BSA pants of appropriate color Pack meetings are usually
held indoors with limited outdoor activities, therefore Class "A"
uniform is requested. Jeans should be discouraged. This is an open meeting.
Appearance as a uniformed unit is important and can be impressive. Class "A"
uniform is requested for outings and events as this is our "public
face". Exceptions will be announced by the leadership. It is general procedure to
wear Class "A" uniform when going to and from camp and campouts. Other
clothes are worn for the duration of the camp except where specifically
designated by camp staff.
CLASS
"B" UNIFORM Scout T-shirts,
sweatshirts, event T-shirts are appropriate in a very informal setting with pack
and den activities and for the duration at camp. It is understood that
these guidelines are not intended to limit or exclude participation and cases
where the guidelines can not be complied with will be addressed on an individual
basis.
